The first Macallan matured and married in casks seasoned with the brand's own Valdespino sherry. TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask is a 20 Year Old single malt and the third chapter of The Macallan's limited edition TIME : SPACE Collection, launched in September 2026. After a long life in predominantly European oak sherry-seasoned casks, the whisky was married in a selection of the first 200 casks ever seasoned at the Valdespino bodega in Jerez, filled during the bicentenary year of 2024. That gives it a second, more specific layer of sherry influence. Bottled at 44.8% ABV with natural colour.
For a distillery whose identity rests on sherry-seasoned oak, it closes a loop. Macallan's owner acquired Valdespino and two Jerez cooperages, taking control of the whole seasoning journey from grape to stave to cask, and this is the first whisky to show what that tastes like.

- Nose: Sherry-soaked raisins, figs, Medjool dates, dark chocolate truffles, cinder toffee, caramelised nuts and warming spice
- Palate: Dried fruit, rich ginger cake, treacle toffee, bramble jam, chocolate-coated cherries, clove, cinnamon and cocoa nib
- Finish: Warming wood spice, a hint of espresso and gentle oak
About The TIME : SPACE Collection
The collection launched in September 2024 for The Macallan's 200th anniversary. It began with TIME : SPACE, an 84 Year Old and the oldest whisky the brand has released, alongside TIME : SPACE Mastery, a 5 Year Old and the first release from the new Macallan Distillery. Sherry Cask is the third chapter and focuses solely on sherry cask maturation. Every release shares a circular decanter.
