The first release in Highland Park's legendary Valhalla Collection, named for Thor — Norse god of thunder. Bottled at "Thor strength" cask strength in an impressive Viking longship wooden casket. A blend of first-fill sherry, refill hogsheads and a proportion of Nordic oak. One of the most sought-after modern Highland Park releases.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Aromatic peat smoke, fresh ginger, antique copper warmth, stewed plum and golden raisin; caramelised almond, oak, cinnamon and herbal notes
  • Palate: Toasted oak, rich dried fruit, toffee, caramelised almond, cinnamon and a distinctive herbal kick; rich, full-bodied and sweet with moderate peat
  • Finish: Gentle oak, Christmas cake, stewed apples and dark brown sugar; long, creamy and progressively spicier
