The lost twin of Glen Grant. Caperdonich was built in 1898 directly across the road from Glen Grant as its sister distillery — Glen Grant No.2 — producing the same light, fruity, creamy Speyside spirit from tall copper stills. It was rarely bottled as a single malt in its lifetime. The distillery is now demolished. Its four stills were dispersed — a pair travelling as far as Belgium, others to Falkirk. Every bottle that exists draws on a finite, dwindling stock, and when that stock is gone, Caperdonich is gone forever. This expression, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2015 by Scotland's oldest independent bottler Cadenhead's, represents just 150 bottles — a ghost of Speyside's past, bold at 56.4%, and utterly beautiful.

About Caperdonich Distillery
Caperdonich was built in 1898 in Rothes, Speyside, as an extension of the famous Glen Grant distillery — known for a time as Glen Grant No.2. Constructed to meet rising demand, it used the same tall copper still design that gives Glen Grant its distinctive light, fruity character. Despite periods of production and silence across its history, Caperdonich was eventually closed in 2002 and subsequently demolished, with its stills sold off across Europe. It was rarely officially bottled as a single malt during its lifetime, meaning independent bottlers like Cadenhead's — Scotland's oldest, established 1842 — are responsible for almost everything that survives. This bottle is a piece of irreplaceable Speyside history.
