Balvenie 14 Year Old Peat Week 2002 Vintage
Balvenie 14 Year Old Peat Week 2002 Vintage
This Balvenie 14 year old Peat Week 2002 Vintage Single Malt is from the first batch of HEAVILY PEATED WHISKY to be made at The Balvenie distillery in more than 50 years.
Whisky from the first week of peated new make spirit distilled at The Balvenie in 2002.
Balvenie burn peat to dry their barley, as they have always done, but from 2002 for one week every year they use heavily peated barley to make the spirit. It is then aged for 14 years exclusively in American oak barrels to produce a whisky that is velvety and smoky-sweet.
Tasting Notes:
Nose : Gentle sweet peat smoke with some lighter floral notes and delicate butterscotch honey.
Palate : Velvety and round with the peat smoke balancing citrus flavours, oaky vanilla and blossom honey.
Finish : Gentle smoke with a lingering and creamy vanilla sweetness.
