A dark fruit-drenched Speyside from the distillery that forms the heart of the White Horse blend. Glen Elgin was distilled in February 2012, matured in a refill hogshead, then re-racked into a first-fill ruby port barrique for an extended finish — bottled in July 2026 at 59.2% cask strength by Woodrow's of Edinburgh. Just 307 bottles from cask 19607. Non-chill filtered, natural colour.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Pear drops and black cherries lifted by bright lemon zest, with floral potpourri in the background — then raspberry jam, almond paste, cinnamon sticks, currants, and soft vanilla sponge emerge with air
  • Palate: Marzipan, milk chocolate coins, black cherries, ripe strawberries, and liquorice, with caramel and rose petal. A mulled wine quality builds — clove, cinnamon, and orange peel appear as the port wood asserts itself
  • Finish: Long and warming — lingering red fruit sweetness with a pleasingly dry tannic grip from the port wood. Water softens the heat and brings the fruit forward beautifully
