The first Balvenie finish to explore French oak. This 16 year old was initially aged in American oak casks before being transferred to French oak casks that previously held Pineau des Charentes, the fortified wine from the Cognac region. The result, created under Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, brings a velvety sweetness with energising grapefruit, geranium, glazed fruit and ginger, alongside a generous helping of honey-glazed fruit and a subtle leafy hint. Bottled at 47.6% ABV.
