Tasting Notes
Nose: Smouldering peat wraps around stewed orchard fruit, raisins, and grilled honeycomb, with muscovado sugar, maraschino cherry, and a hint of mocha.
Palate: Molasses tart, cocoa, and espresso bitterness meet barbecued peach and plum, with manuka honey and spiced orange adding sweetness and lift.
Finish: Caramelised spice, dark sugar, and a lingering ember of peat.

The GlenAllachie Distillery was acquired in 2017 by master blender Billy Walker and his team, who have since transformed it into one of the most talked-about distilleries in Scotland. Meikle Tòir — "The Big Peat" in Gaelic — is their heavily peated expression, an exciting anomaly from a typically unpeated Speyside region.
