Daftmill Winter Batch Release 2008–2020 12 Year Old 46% 70cl
Daftmill Winter Batch Release 2008–2020 is a beautifully precise Lowland single malt from one of Scotland’s most sought-after farm distilleries. Owned and run by the Cuthbert family, Daftmill only distils during the farm’s quieter periods— mid-summer and winter —sometimes producing as few as 100 casks per year. That seasonal, small-scale approach (and the fact the barley is grown on the estate) gives every release a real sense of place.
This batch is a 12 year old, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2020, created from 23 first fill ex-bourbon barrels filled between 14th February and 28th April 2008, then matured in the upper level of Warehouse No.1. The result is classic Daftmill: bright, creamy, and quietly complex, with the freshness of bourbon cask maturation and the distillery’s trademark farm-grown character.
