This 2000's botling of Balvenie Doublewood was aged for 12 years in Two distinct casks.

The Balvenie Doublewood acquires its complez yet rich and smooth taste from its maturation in two different types of oak cask, carefully selected by award-winning malt master, David Stewart.
First Cask - Whisky Oak

Many years of maturation exculsively in traditonal whisky oak casks mellows the maturing spirit and imparts gentle,warming layers of vanilla spiceness.
Second Cask - Sherry Oak

A further few months maturation in european oak sherry casks increases complexity, Bringing fruity and honeyed depths to the resulting single malt.
Distillery Tasting Notes:

Nose: Sweet fruit and oloroso sherry notes, layered with honey and vanilla.

Taste: Smooth and mellow ith beautifully combined flavours - nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiceness and a delicately proportioned layer of sherry - with a long and warming finish.
