About Wild Turkey
Wild Turkey is one of Kentucky’s best-known bourbon names, distilled and bottled by the Wild Turkey Distilling Co., a division of Campari Group. The “Wild Turkey” name is said to have come from an Austin Nichols executive, Thomas McCarthy, who took warehouse samples on a wild turkey hunting trip in 1940 — and after his friends kept asking for “that wild turkey bourbon,” the brand was officially bottled as Wild Turkey from 1942.
