Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage

This discontinued Old Pulteney 1990 Vintage Single Malt Whisky, has been matured in hand selected American oak ex Bourbon barrels and Spanish oak ex Sherry butts.

The casks previously held heavily peated malt, which gives this vintage a slight smoky character.
Nose :

Subtle, warm wood smoke envelopes the sweetness of peardrops and crunchy green apples. Fragrant floral notes, fresh lemon zest and honey. Followed by a spicy and fruity touch of ex-sherry casks.

Palate :

Full bodied and rich. The initial sweet honey note is quickly followed by a wave of thick peat smoke, joined a moment later by spicy vanilla, toffee and rum-soaked raisins.
Finish :

Long and intense, full of smoke, spices and honey sweetness.
