Distillery Story
Lochside Distillery was located in Montrose, Angus, and was notable for producing both single malt Scotch whisky and grain whisky during its lifetime. The distillery was owned by Macnab Distilleries Ltd and later by Allied Distillers, a subsidiary of Allied Domecq. Production ceased in 1992, with the site later earmarked for redevelopment. The distillery was eventually demolished between 2004 and 2005, and the site has since been turned into housing.
Today, Lochside bottlings represent a finite part of Scotch whisky history, making them especially attractive to collectors and enthusiasts interested in demolished distilleries and harder-to-find independent releases.
