Sine World Rum Day is celebrated this month, we thought we would share a bit more in depth look at a local and one of our favourite Rum distillery's in Twisted Root. 

Twisted Root was founded in Bridlington, Yorkshire by Piers Gibbons, the distillery is a labour of love and and they focus on quality over quantity in their rum production. They focus on small batch releases for their rums to ensure it is the finest rum they can produce. 

Piers is the true passion behind the distillery, with a handmade still by Piers, the still has being described as a thing of beauty that truly lets the distiller have great attention to detail in creating exceptional rum. Piers is a perfectionist in the distilling and creates each batch of rum himself with using the finest ingredients, and that perfection in creation can be felt in every sip.

The ingredients are a key to twisted roots creating truely special rum Piers insists on finest molasses and then creates with modern and traditional techniques to produce a rum that is smooth and complex, with taste of vanilla hints, spice and caramel. 

Twisted Roots also pride themselves on their commitment to sustainability. Using renewable energy and being eco-friendly distillery and always conscious of their impact on the environment and forever looking at how they can reduce waste in production tot he most minimal level.
