Distilled in 1990 at The Macallan near Craigellachie and bottled in 2026 at 36 years old, this whisky spent its entire life in a single refill sherry butt, cask 11317. Just 18 bottles were produced, at a natural cask strength of 54.1%, natural colour and without chill filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA sherry butt is a large cask of around 500 litres, traditionally seasoned with sherry from Jerez. As a refill cask it has already given up some of its most intense sherry character to an earlier fill, so its influence is gentler and more measured, which suits a very long maturation like this one.
